About
April 26th, 2008
Ron Roat created the Remedial Academy as a means to reach writers, journalists, and college-age students to help them with college writing and, with a little luck, help them become more self-reliant individuals. He also has a blog at http://ronroat.wordpress.com where he will cover the self-directedness issues more completely. Please take a look. He has written a book on this topic, Autonomy, and continues to tweak and expand it. His homepage is http://www.ronroat.com.
Roat is a retired college journalism professor, novelist, author, motorcycle rider, and general malcontent. Roat’s mysteries (see homepage) focus on a Michigan-based contemporary private eye: Close Softly the Doors, A Still and Icy Silence, and High Walk. He is working on the fourth in the series and intends to title it Some in Velvet Gowns. Don’t tell him how much you like his work since that will merely encourage him.
He now lives in Michigan about 150 yards from Lake Michigan near where he grew up. Feel free to contact him at: ronroat@remedialacademy.com.
